    How often do you weigh yourself?

    How often do you weigh yourself to keep track of your progress? I have been told that I shouldn't do it too frequently ... is weekly weigh-in considered too frequent?

    I weigh myself daily. I do it to see how my diet and exercise impact my weight.

          I weigh myself every morning before breakfast, it helped me to understand more or less what my "normal" weight was with the nutrition I have and the training I do.
          It's a habit that I continue to follow even though I've been stable for months now.
          I would avoid weighing myself every day by following a diet, in my experience there can easily be variations of even 1 kg for no apparent reason

            I weigh daily immediately in the morning after getting up, using the bathroom, before I eat. Same reasons as Fremen. Helps me see the effects of my intake and activity levels. However, if I was on a “diet,” I would pick a day every week to do it.

              When I did a cut, I weighed myself every morning, after getting up and having paid a visit to the toilet. Your weight fluctuates a lot, so weighing only once a week, for example, could give you a weird picture of your progress (or lack thereof). If you weigh yourself daily, you can estimate a weekly average, with helps to get a clearer picture.
              Here's an example (upper curve is daily, bottom curve is weekly. Notice the spikes):

              Now imagine you would, by sheer coincidence, only weigh in when there's a spike
              Depending on when you'd weigh in, you'd get terrifying results

                I go back and forth from every day to infrequently. Personally it depends for me what my goals are. At present I am looking to achieve a gradual weight loss combined with muscle gain. In the last though I weighed myself almost daily while I dropped 40 kg.

                  Trying to do it weekly, every friday morning, cause that's the best weight I can get during the week...

                  I am aware that one weight in does not represent anything, but after some time you can see a trend...

                  The blue line is my 2020 progress, where I wasn't very consistent with my weight-in timing, trying to change that in 2021. Light blue is the trending.

                    I just randomly weigh myself, not that my weight ever changes, usually around 148 lbs. The scale is stashed in the bathroom cupboard so it's easy not to bother with.
