    Does both legs mean I do 12, 10, 8, 6 each side or in total (6, 5, 4, 3 each side)? Thanks.

    I think the intention is the second one. 6 6, 5 5, 4 4, 3 3....etc.
    Butt (hehe) the first option will really hit the spot.

          The instruction (both legs) is there to make sure that the rep count: 12, 10, 8, 6 is the total for both legs which means you divide by two for each one.
