HIIT Alternatives or Modifying HIIT days in a program

    Hello Bees..
Hope that all are doing good and are safe in these testing times..
    coming to the topic..

I absolutely hate HIIT.. essentially not because of the exercises but the complexity in keeping track of time.. my question is..
Can I modify a HIIT day into a normal routine, if so how can I do that.. and will that effect the entire program.. I am more interested in 90 days of action, 30 days of change/strength/gravity kind of programs..
Also in general, If I have to modify a time based workout to either classical or rep based how can I do that.. and is that OK??

If there are videos in the case of Combat HIIT.. I have no problems just follow the video.. But when working out at home all that extra tracking de-motivates me to start a HIIT day.. I do not have issues with rep counting at all.. even 100 or 200...

Thank you all for your time and feedback..

Sorry I don't get the keeping track of time part. Darbee HIIT workouts usually come with a timer, that beeps you through the workout eg. Combat HIIT Day 10.
If you do HIIT slower it becomes regular cardio.

Yeah I actually remember the sequences and go at it, not using the webpage.. Anyway lets just say I hate doing HIIT.. and considering general fitness.. is it okay to do regular cardio in place of HIIT, especially in the programs..
I would never choose to do a HIIT program on my own anyway..

Okay so the timer on every page is specific to that page?? wow that's awesome.. I am even more impressed at the sheer thought and effort the Team puts in..

I also hate HIIT. That's probably what we all say when we don't do it and can't properly go with it without being a little closer to the graveyard.

So, if you want to convert the HIIT workouts to cardio, my suggestion would be,
        - Take the HIIT workout and try to get as many reps as possible
        - For example, let's say you can do 20 punches in 10 seconds at full speed.
        - Then just convert the sheet to your max rep on those, and try to do them as fast as you can without burning yourself down.
        - So, if you took 10 secs to throw 20 punches at your max speed, do them at a pace that it takes you around 30 seconds instead

If you do that with everything, you can convert the HIIT routine to a reps based one, that you can just manage at your personal rythm.

But probably that is not the best apporach. The HIIT workouts serve a purpose, and cardio serves a different one. Cardio will probably get you faster results at the beggining since you don't burn and can perform a lot more, but the idea of HIIT is building stamina and endurance first, so you do even more, each time, on the same time range. So after a month, cardio will be useless since you builded resistance to those exercises already, but HIIT will fulfill it's purpose for a much, much longer time.

But yeah, I don't like it either.

you got me there.. But whenever I do try something goes wrong and I cannot continue and repeated failures have made me give-up on those..
One main reason being.. I was stuck on 90 Days of Action Day 7 for so long in the end I wasn't able to complete it and I even ended up discontinuing everything.. (I feel so atleast looking back now..)
If I start 90 DOA, I just don't want to get stuck there.. and I really want to do that as my first chosen program to be completed with log here on hive..
Anyway Thanks both you JMed and Andi64.. I cannot promise, but I'll try to give it a go as it is..
