    Morning Routine

What constitutes a solid morning routine?

    Posting this question for Suggestions/Ideas

Some water when waking up, a good darebee session, morning wash / put clothes on, breakfast, meditation, brushing my teeth , and make-up before going to work. Now you know everything Seriously, I find putting a workout and meditation session as part of morning routine helpful as I won't be tempted to forget them in the evening. Also of note, I am a morning person so it may not work for night owls bees.

PetiteSheWolf Okie Dokie Drinking water is an established habit of the day. I'm looking to incorporate a darebee session before breakfast, aimed as a warmup, because i haven't done any for a long long time.

I am doing 60 days worth of programs at night so I took 3 30 day programs and split them up for the morning. Presently doing 30 days of change, spartan trials and fighters codex. You might want to do that if you want some variety

Ah, I clearly misunderstood your question Captain_Gymaholic I find my exercise's too short to really need a warm up, but when needed a few sun salutation do a good job for me.

Water + anything that you will be happy to continue doing that puts you in a good mindset for the day.

Mine is water + coffee w my cat (who tries to drink my coffee sometimes LOL) > a workout > breakfast. Yours may be different.

immediately after waking up.. I have a glass (0.5 ltrs) water..
then do pushups to failure.. ( I can do only 15 in one go..) and then few "surya namaskars"(Sun Salutations) to stretch and get the body started.. and 10-15 mins of meditation (But I tend to go close to 30 mins..) to get the mind started..
From there.. If I feel like I'll do the Challenge for the day or something or even read..

Wake up at 630 or two hours before I need to be doing anything, make coffee, meditation, reading and writing on the covered porch. At 730, start exercising for a half hour or 40 minutes, shower, and sit down to work.

I do all my workouts in the morning. STarts with a level 2 or 3 Cardio workout to warm up, followed by the main program I am doing (currently 90 Days of Action) and then a challenge and a Daily Dare.

The best routine is the one that works for you. My wife, for example, gets up at 5:30 am and runs 10 miles before our kids are awake. That works for her. I hate the morning and I run and work-out in the afternoon or the night after the kids are asleep. My morning routine is lying around in bed and eventually getting coffee, then making breakfast for my kids.

We both happen to be well-conditioned, strong athletes.

Your routine is one that you can sustain, morning or evening.

Now that everyone has shared their morning routine, i'll share mine.

Definitely not a morning person. But that is about to change, since i'll start working within a couple of months. Until then, i'll be sticking to the 'late to bed & late to rise' routine.

I wake up late, have 2 full glasses of water. I take a few minutes reading the newspaper, then have breakfast, let it digest and then do an afternoon session, which lasts for an hour at most. I do another session in the evening, which may be hard or light, depending on the afternoon session's performance.

Today i started with the water, then went for some morning stretches. Likewise, i ended the evening session with another stretching session.

                      CaptainCanuck That's a solid start.

                      PetiteSheWolf It's all good

'rin i used to start my day with coffee, but replaced that with water recently. I do have a black tea along with breakfast.

vrsthe1 Meditation is something i wlways fail at

Salishsea That sounds solid as well

Warmaker I'm in the quest to find my morning routine

Cat is essential. I didn't spell it, but feeding my Mademoiselle Luna while tea brews. As is defending my whole bread toast with salted butter from her attemps to lick it.

With meditation initially what I used to do was..
                          1. Accept thoughts are inevitable they'll just keep coming..
                          2. So make sure to smile by the end of the thought.. essentially imagine the best possible outcome that you wish and assume it has come true.. and smile..
                          3. It will take te... Be patient..
                          4. Eventually when meditation is started its very pleasant and one would want to continue doing that...
