    Bridges Alternative

Hi all! I have a lower back/hip issue that prevents me from being able to do bridges correctly. I get an intensely sharp pain in that area, which causes me stop. Are there any good alternatives?

PS: I'm calling the chiropractor tomorrow to hopefully try to get it worked out.

The best advice is to ask your doc.

    But about alternative:
Anything that brings your legs backwards will involve the hips, and anything like the superman works the lower back as you curve your body backward against gravity.

For example the back kick in this workout exercise your glutes. Maybe you can just do the workout before seeing your doc. The side leg raises work your hips, too. If anything hurts, you should stop.

    Just my opinion.

Yikes. Don't do anything with your back until you can see your doctor. Your body is telling you something. Don't let gravity help you find out what it was!

Intense stabbing pain sounds like a pinched nerve.
Step-ups on to a chair (or something else around knee height) or side steps using a resistance band might work.
A physiotherapist is always a good idea.
