    Suggestions for resistance bands

    Hey bees,
iam looking for some suggestions for resistance bands. My major goal is to train my chest. Due to my elbow injurey i can't do exercise with weights or push-up related stuff So i would like to do some other exercises with a minimum load for the elbow.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi buddy!!

The only idea that comes me without have much effect on to the elbows are the "chest expansions". All others (that I remember now) imply barbell/dumbbells, cable or bodyweight. All with effect on the elbows. So, using elastic bands with chest expansions is one I'm sure You've already thought.

An alternative? The classic exercise, the push ups, but keeping down the pressure of your weigth and do them inclined or the "knee variation".

Hopping that your elbow will recover well and soon.

For my experience, I recommend those with handles, they are more comfortable and it is very easy to add an extra elastic to increase resistance

A loooot of them are available from amazon, most from Chinese sellers with uhm... probably not so honest reviews. I bought some myself two years ago and had to wade through a jungle of those until I found some of which I thought they were okay-ish. I still use them, so that's that. I bought them for 25 Euros but looking again they're available for 22 Euros now, although they seem to come directly from China now (with according shipping times, of course). I could send you the link or you could take a dive through the products yourself

SimonB, did you try isometric exercises, You never can totally omit your elbows, but static holds or presses instead of reps might work better.

I have purchased Bodylastic bands from Amazon and they are pretty good. They also have an anti-snap feature.

As for exercises that involve your chest without much elbow ... floor chest fly or cable/band crossovers are the ones that come to mind.

                Hope you can recover quickly!

Dyna-Bands were the originals. Stick with them, that way you can avoid the cheap Chinese knock-offs.

I see I'm not the only one who has noted that Amazon seems to be awash with Chinese products of suspect quality and origin.

                    No, you're not
You can find Chinese products of similar quality, though (mostly because the branded stuff is produced in China, too and the knock-offs sometimes aren't distinguishable from the original) but it takes some work to find those.

Not sure if you're only looking for resistance bands or also for some instructions/exercises to use them. If the latter is also interesting my warm recommendation is James Grage.
Here are two videos which target chest training using resistance bands:
