    Military Abs

In a few years time, I should be joining the military. I know that they use a ton of core, and my core is rather weak. Is there any good programs, on or off Darebee, that help improve core strength and endurance?

IWillGoSuperSaiyan I was in the military for about a dozen years in Canada. From what I remember at various points we did climbers, planks, situps, crunches, bicycle crunches, and flutter kicks. I also don't recall that anyone ever really focused on abs for exercise, though probably rightfully should have. Instead the people that trained a lot ended up being either lifters or runners. I did get out about ten years ago, so that attitude might have changed.

What I can tell you is that my core strength has never been stronger than it is now. I do a lot of different Darebee workouts, and because I exercise with my wife I also tend to see a bunch of pilates videos (have a look at my check in thread, I did a decent one last night).

IWillGoSuperSaiyan There's an app designed by the british army, 100% Army Fit, made to prepare you physically to enter their army. At first there is a test to assess your current level of fitness, then there are programs if I recall. Try it out!

I’ve done a few of the core challenges and programs, so l’ll offer my two bits. Back and core program is by far my favorite, primary cause I worked in farming and messed up my lower back. It was my first real accomplishment on darebee and I recommend it for first timers and people whom are starting over. Total abs would be next ( I don’t suggest together, only cause that’s a bit much) as it’s name says it all. I will state that power Cardio is the highest level I have gone and it’s very core intense and will test you to your lint. On a final tip: if you’re strapped for time or want simple, I’ll recommend the abs challenges. I am working on the level 2 now and I got to say these work well. Just going by my experience, but pick what works for you.
