    Bicep strain?

What am I doing wrong if when I am doing a push up hold (holding just before actually pushing up), my bicep feels strained? I know that pushups are a tricep and chest work out mainly. I'm not sure what I would be doing wrong.

In a pushup hold your elbows are bend at 90 degrees. if you have your upper arms parallel to the floor and your forearms perpendicular to the floor, your biceps work to prevent yourself from "kissing the floor" by pulling your back arms in position, when you are leaning forward.

Why you are feeling pain, like they are strained... this I do not know... I hope it gets better soon.

HellYeah Thanks for the quick response and that makes sense. I came from lifting weights to doing body weight workouts, and I am using different muscles. Just making sure it wasn't a problem with my form as opposed to just growing pains of switching workout styles!
