Byca94 ,Welcome to The Hive,as I'm sure someone already told you,you need to have a caloric deficit to lose weight.
I always suggest using app called MyFitnessPal to count and log your macronutrients and calorie intake.
The app can also automatically calculate how many calories you need to lose 0.25kg,0.5kg,0.75kg or 1 kg per week,so the app does the whole job.

Also, the thing I suggest and that helped me burn fat and lose weight(I dropped from 74 to 62kg) is Intermittent fasting,it helps a lot,I linked the article Darebee team wrote about Intermittent fasting and why it's good for you, read it.
The app I suggest and personally use for Intermittent Fasting is called BodyFast,it gives you all fasting plans and you can choose which one to start(I suggest 16 : 8).
So basically Intermittent Fasting is thing where you have a 16 hour fasting window,in that 16 hours you're not allowed to eat or drink anything that has calories(Except green tea and black coffe),and you have a 8 hour eating window,in which you are allowed to eat and that's the time where you eat your calories for the day.

As you mentioned HIIT,it's also great way to help your burn fat and lose weight but you should also include some weight training in your schedule to help you build and muscle.

If you have any other questions ,you could ask me in PM or here,as I went through the weight loss process myself I could maybe help with something.

of course, rest plenty, and the soreness is ok, it's actually good, but make sure your muscles get plenty of rest. Improvement from working out comes after, not during Byca94

Eat very nutritional dense foods with low calories. working out while hungry can actually have somewhat the opposite affects. I am skinny no matter what I do, and can only put on muscle weight. so I've never had the overweight problem, but I know a bit about it. but I will admit that knowledge is somewhat limited.
Thanks for sharing what you know ill try my best
