    alternate ab exercises

    Does anybody have any advice regarding alternate ab exercises? I have a scar on my lower back/upper buttocks that prevents me from doing any sitting exercises. I am considering starting the military plus program and cannot do sit ups or sitting twists. Any advice would be appreciated.

      I am not sure what kind of movement is restricted if you have a scar, and I am not sure what do you mean by "sitting exercises" because sit-up is not done sitting. But if you can't do sit ups and sitting twists there's probably a lot of things you won't be able to do...

      There's one called Standing Abs which might be of your interest.

      Other workouts that you can consider include flutter kicks, exercises under the plank category and the lower abs category.
      Plank category: full plank, elbow plank, plank reaches, plank leg raises, etc., see 2-minute multiplank challenge, Core Control, Core Connect, etc.
      Lower abs category: leg raises, leg raises circles, or those listed in the poster lovethedoggo linked, this workout (Lower Abs), or this (Abs Fold), etc. But I will still be cautious about it...

      If your lower back is ruined I would imagine that you basically can't do any abs exercises, but again I don't know much about your situation.
