    Becoming a personal trainer

    Hey everyone,currently I'm 15,I'm really into fitness and I would like to be a personal trainer or online coach one day.
    If there is anyone here that is currently one of the two or know about it,what are the steps you need to take to become a personal trainer or a coach?
    I currently have a lot of knowledge about the fitness,health,nutrition and I'm learning every day online about the nutrition and fitness,also soon I'll be buying some courses on fitness.
    What do you think with what age would I be able to coach someone ,would that be a important factor and would getting a "license" be necessary If i would to start online coaching in few years?

    If you know anyone who is a trainer or has experience with this ,mention him in the topic so he can read this and possibly give me a answer.

    I have no expierience in the special topic of being a fitness coach, but I worked as a climbing instructor/coach.
    You should gather information what notional and international certificates there are and what you need to do to get them some day.The trainers at a gym would be a good source of infirmation I think.
    Most important is to get some experience in teaching/coaching others, on a private/friendship base or by volunteering in a local sport clubs like gymnastics or football... good luck in reaching your goal...

      The fact is, not all countries have the same regulations / diplomas. Theoretically, you could very well become an online coach without any formal training, just by convincing your clients you are able to offer them worthwhile advice. Some self-proclaimed youtube "fitness experts" actually know very little when you scratch beyond the surface.

      But of course, having an actual degree is much better, especially in the long run. In France, we have universities dedicated to sports, for people who want to work as professional coaches or PE teachers. I guess the same is probably true in Serbia?

        Yes,we have that too,after the High school(Here you end high school at 18/19 depends) ,you can go to a College for PE but I think that's waste of time since there are courses that take a lot less time to finish and you get pretty much the same knowledge,on the courses and internet you could maybe learn even more.
        The College is good only because you get a Certificate or Diploma but I don't think it would matter that much If I wanted to do Online Coaching in future.
        But,also I saw there is a thing called Oxford Academy where basically you go 2 weeks and pay some amount of money to get a I guess a certificate for a personal coach,check this link,just right click and translate it to English.

                But that diploma (and the science that comes with it) could be THE thing that sets you apart from the thousands of dudes that did the 2 weeks crash course.

                    Andi64 , Redline ,I probably will end up going for that diploma and aside maybe get the course certificate too.
                    Better to have both than just one,right?

                      I would definitely go for that diploma. Now you might have the career of an online coach in view, but in a few years that might change and a real diploma opens up more choices if you want to do something else, so, go for it.
                      And I agree with Andi64, that diploma will give you additional credibility and would set you apart from the others.

                        Another option is to study physical therapy and then get a personal training certificate. I have found coaches that were physical therapists are best at keeping you injury free and making progress in a balanced way.
