Can I do cardio and weights consecutively?

Can I do cardio and weights consecutively? Let's say in the morning. If yes, which one to do first?

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but there are a few darebee workouts that combine weight and cardio-like activities if you are interested. Like the Mason+ workout.

Stepping up and down with weight can be really exhausting.
I also found one called Cardio Cross Plus
    https://darebee.com/workouts/cardio-...s-workout.html

You can find more using the workout filter. Check "dumbbell", most of which are "strength/tone" exercises, but check "full body". Look through them a bit carefully and you'll find workouts that are not just those typical looking dumbbell stuff, but include movements like dumbbell punches, archers, cross chops, etc. Personally I find them more fun and interesting, and they allow me to make the most out of my light dumbbells because when you do dumbbell punches you have to use light weights. Some of them make you do abs workout as well. Of course you can just check "dumbbells" to have a full look. Hope this helps!

kandy Thank you for this. Ive also seen that but I was thinking if Darbee's workouts are for people who were already fit and theyre just using that for maintenance. Im currently using a split workout program. Do you think doing this workout will have a the same result? 😅 I only have 3 months left before the wedding and Im totally desperate to get fit. I got my new workout program through the experts here but then the problem is the time. I only have 1 hour per day to workout. 😅 If this will give a better result, I can commit to do this with consistency.

I am not sure what split workout is?

My impression is that you are not entirely unfit, are you? I think 3 months is a decent amount of time. I recommend starting with a difficulty 2 program, with a focus on highburn/ streamline, of which 30 Days of Cardio Blast is one, if your goal is to lose weight/fat. General fitness is another choice, or you can start with Foundation if you are not confident. Then you can move on to difficulty 3. Again, pick general fitness or high burn streamline.

1 hour is totally enough for any difficulty 2 programs and most difficult 3's. You might even be able to squeeze in a challenge or two.

I wouldn't recommend going with only one routine. I haven't done Mason+ but another dumbbell piece, but that's mostly for building strength and endurance, so it might not be of your interest.

If you also work on your diet, there's no reason why your appearance won't change. I never diet except eating less sweets and sugar, but I can still see results. Cut down sweets and soda alone can help tremendously if you have a sweet tooth.

How do you feel about the Totals program? It's difficulty 3 general fitness and doesn't seem very hard. Plus it's an add-on so you can feel more free about it.

kandy Im not really a fan of sweets because it might affect my throat (Im a lead choir) 😅 and Im not that fat. I just want to tone my arms, belly and face 😂. Im currently 55 from 58 (I started Feb this year) but I admit Im very inconsistent in weights but Im very good in cardio 😂 almost every day I walked 40-60 mins. But when Im home, Im tired and I just want to sleep.

My ideal weight is 45. Hahahahaha! But what happened is every weekday I weighed 55kgs. But every after weekend it became 56kgs hahahahhahaha! OMG. It was just really hard to cut down rice but Im doing my best to eat at least 3 tbsp per meal. 😭

Thats why Im lookimg for a program that will tone my body where I can do in just 1 hour in the morning. And I will control my diet. Maybe thats the culprit 😂

kiralescense That means you still want to lose some, right? How tall are you, though?

Arm fat is so stubborn! I never manage to lose those but I also have not used weight many times, so I don't have much say.

If you are really good with cardio, I definitely recommend trying Cardio Blast. I am doing that one now. Some days are pretty tough, and I am not unfit.

If it's too easy, move onto difficulty 3 right away. Athena's Playbook is fun. Cardio Trim seems promising, and Age of Pandora is another high burn program.

You have to go with full body fat loss because you can't decide where to lose fat...

I know I've done a cardio-heavy programs and a weights-focused programs at the same time and seen results/been fine (30 Days of Change and Ironborn respectively), but I doubt that you could do both of those programs in under an hour. Some days were maybe around 50 minutes, but a lot of the time I was working in a little over an hour to an hour and a half. Even if you traded 30 Days of Change for something like Cardio Blast, I doubt you'd fit it all into the time limit.

My goals are also notably different than yours, however. Losing weight IS a thing, but not necessarily my sole focus and I don't exactly have a specific time limit to do a certain amount either. While there certainly are likely ways you can throw in some light dumbbells into the Cardio Blast routine (holding them while doing lunges or squats, for example) or even throwing on some light wrist/ankle weights, weights tend to push your body more towards gaining muscle and might throw off how much you feel you've 'lost' over time since muscle does weigh more than fat.

That said, kandy does have a very good point. For the most part, if you want to focus on losing weight, you want to focus on things that are pointed towards stream lining your body. Unfortunately, you can't really spot-lose weight (as much as I would love to be able too). I'd go with something like Cardio Blast or maybe Cardio Go! and if either are too easy for the first few days, it might be a decent idea to shoot a little higher at level 3 stuff. I'd personally highly recommend 30 Days of Change if you did a harder difficulty one (and have a way you can run regularly), but a ton of other level 3 programs look really fun, like Athena's Playbook, Cardio Trim, and Hero's Journey.

kandy Yes I still have fats to loose. Fats in the arms (flabby arms), face and a little in belly. But I really want to focus in my arms. Thats why I need a weights hahaha. I'm 5 flat.

I need a workout that I can do max 1 hour a day that could tone my body in 3 months 😂 Thats why I want to know if I could do cardio and weights consecutively. 30 mins cardio then 30 mins weights. Then the next day cardio and lower body. Something like that. Im not sure in what Im saying. Thats my goal to tone my body in 3 months 😂

If you have a bloated lower belly but a fairly flat upper stomach like me, there's a trick that might help you: practice squeeze/ tightening your abs. That works really well for me who never made an effort doing so before. I have done 5 days so far and change has been seen every day.

I practice twice a day using the 1 minute equal breathing clock from the meditation challenge (expand your belly when inhaling and squeeze it when exhaling,) and tighten the abs more often during ab exercises.

I don't know why you couldn't. Back when I was stopping at the gym after work, I would do 30 minutes of cardio (rowing, stairs, treadmill, bike, whatever struck my fancy that day) as a warmup, then then to the weights/body weight sets.

These are my suggestions that I think can be effective for your goal. I know your goal and what you are saying but I don't think it works as simple as 1+1... and I am not a fitness expert.

Cardio Trim will be closest to your plan since it combine both cardio and strength, and it's for visual results. 30 days of change is cool but it goes beyond an hour. You don't have to use weight to build muscles.

Another way will be adding a challenge that uses weight to a cardio program

RockNTennessee maybe because your cardio was intense than mine? Im just walking during weekdays 30 to 40 mins and doing weights uhmm.. sometimes. If I still have time. 😔

kandy Actually I can manage my belly. I just dont have to eat rice for 5 consecutive days. But I will do that to make it flat, faster. 😉
