    Balance Challenge

I am about to finish the Core Control Challenge. It's nice to do some side leg raises every other day although I don't always feel like doing them. Because of that the Balance Challenge seems like a natural next step for me, and my balance is bad, so it will be nice to do something about it.

My question is, does this challenge (particularly the hold) also work your abs and core? I would like to do some additional ab exercises every day, but I want to keep the number of Challenges low. If the Balance Challenge also works my core somehow, I will just go for this one and not adding any other ab challenges.

    Thanks!

Core always works but in this challenge works more in rising legs, in an active way, that in the hold when you work more on balance, in a passive way
This is only my opinion and experience
Perhaps you can take a look at the hollow hold challenge that is "fast" at least 2 min a day at the end:

I'm doing it and l like it, it's well balanced and easy in time.

Fremen Thank you for your input. It's nice to hear from someone who have done the challenge.
Hollow hold? I will keep that in mind but probably not.

I'm in the same spot like you, kandy, coming from Core Control and thinking about Balance next. For me, I think that those two exercises in the challenge (Balance Hold and Side Leg Raises) look like they'd profit a lot from engaging your core, for more stability, so in my layman's thoughts I think the challenge would train your core as well.

Nihopaloa nice! I have a new idea which is replacing one of the things on the training list with the Endurance Challenge, which has plank every other day. Problem solved.
Balance will be on the list, too.

It is one of the best core exercises and you do not need to do the progression of the challenge. Do day one and two for some time until you feel comfortable to go on. Then progress do that until... maybe... forever
or you can do micro rest in between rhe given time
or you can shorten the lever of your arms and legs, by bending the knees and reaching more up than back qith your arms.

                  I started the challenge!

I have a question. The instruction says, "Don't put your leg down during in one go side leg raises." Does it mean that your foot should not touch the floor when you move the leg down? neilarey

neilarey Thanks. I guess I should try my best, putting the leg down only when I can't take it?

If I do 5 and then I drop, and I start again right away and do another 5, will it count as 5 or 10 in one go?

Can I hold onto something or should I avoid doing so?

kandy absolutely, just do your best
When you try to balance like that - it works your core which is an additional bonus.
