    How does this sound?

    Hi,

I'm new and would just like to be sure I'm on the right track. I read the questions and answers, reviewed the programs and such and think the best place for me to start is Foundation Light.

I'm 70 years old and haven't done any serious exercise in 20 years. I used to do Tai Chi and Yoga -- but it's been a long, long time. I have Diabetes and Arthritis and my balance and flexibility aren't the best. There's lots of work to do to get back into decent condition. Plus I'm obese. I do hate that word but you know -- that's what I am.

I still work full time and don't plan to retire soon. So what do you think? Foundation Light with a few DDs thrown in once in a while?

    Thanks so much

    Welcome!
Foundation Light is the perfect place to begin.
Also, I really enjoyed both the Posture Challenge and the Balance Challenge.

Foundation light is a great way to get back into exercising, and should show you what you can, could, and should not do. A DD, or one of the lighter challenges, once you are comfy with Foundation , can be a very nice way to complete!

                  Welcome to the Hive, Befuddle!

Regarding diabetes and working out, DaithiMeyer should be able to offer very sound advice.

Befuddle ... Diabetes is likely to put a modest 'damper' on your workout efforts, but this more likely to be a bit of frustration rather than an absolute. Things will be harder, not impossible.
Don't let it hold you back. It's just one more thing you need to get past. And, you can.

Once I get my blood sugar back down it should get better, but you are right. I get so freaking tired. Add to that the aching hips from the arthritis which will improve as I increase exercise. The trick for both of those is exercise -- then eating correctly for weight loss. At this point, I'm also doing short walks outside for fresh air and movement -- but I think the real healing with come from Foundation Light. Just need to push through the wall!

                          Thanks so much!
