Cannot rise legs without bending them

I cannot rise my legs above circa 80° without bending them.
And If I am doing some exercise I bend my legs even more.

In that workout I bend the legs a lot.
At some point I can see that you have to reach something like 100°.

With the legs leaning against a wall and with both arms making force to avoid my back to rise, I can reach 90 but with great pain.

Is this normal? Can I do something?

Probably your hamstrings and/or your low back are quite tight. I'd go for just bending your legs as little as you can and including a fair bit of stretching in a regular workout routine.

You're not losing much by not stretching your legs entirely, as long as you're making an effort to.

I'd advise stretching your hamstrings, calves and glutes at least once every two days in order to improve that flexibility.

I could suggest you something that is fine for me with satisfying (even better than I expected) results.

A few months ago I started to do the "Splits" as a regular workout, and recently I did the "TYT challenge". Now I continue doing both routines every two/three days.

Stretching after warming up or after a workout (that warms you up properly) should help you be more flexible. This ACSM position stand will help you with the knowledge: "Crucial to maintaining joint range of movement, completing a series of flexibility exercises for each the major muscle-tendon groups (a total of 60 sec per exercise) on ≥2 days/wk is recommended."

This channel will help you with the techniques.

How is this a serious problem? OK, my guess at a solution would be including some stretching in your warmup. Does this truly bother you?

DaithiMeyer Well, it limits your movement, and some exercise get much hurder. I worked on my mobility recently, and I am very happy how much easier some things get.

So I can only sevond the others. Especially the "touch your toes" challenge.

I shall stretch those parts, do the challenge and the splits, thanks.
