Failed to follow the program's schedule. Let things go or squeeze days in?

    Hi everyone,

I am doing the Athena's Playbook program, and my plan is to finish it by December 14, which requires me to do it every day, no rest, no delay, but the delay is already happening. I stopped 2 days after day 4, and I just got back on it today and completed day 5. Should I squeeze the days in later on, so that I can still get it done on time, or should I just let it go and accept the fact that I won't be able to reach that goal?

This might happen again in the future. I wish I could perfectly follow the program but obligations just kicked in and I got a bit stressed as well.

I have never finished a program or theme week in the originally scheduled time. While I can't tell you what to do, I recommend letting go of the goal of doing it every day. Especially with the holidays coming up? Can I suggest maybe having a goal of finishing by Dec 31st instead? That gives you extra time, and lets you start something new for the new year.

Whatever happens, don't stress about it. It matters more that you are trying than that you are keeping a strict schedule.

Agreed. It's been a learning experience for myself as well, to forgive myself if I take a day or two off, especially when I've started working out after a long break.

I've been doing Epic Five and Total Abs for the past month or so, and if there have been off-days, I would consider the situation as a whole and decide, should I do two days' worth of workouts at once or move the ending further. All in all, there's no universal solution for everyone.

Unfortunately sometimes 'life' just gets in the way of our workout plans. Trick is not to stress about it. Accept it as an unplanned rest day and ENJOY whatever it is that has got in the way.

I'd be cautious about trying to make up lost days by rolling workouts together or even just into the same day.

Sure, if both workouts are pretty light or moderate and you feel confident go for it, but if even one of them is heavy or intense or you just don't feel good about rolling the two together, don't do it. Over train and you may fatigue and end up missing more workouts later on down the line, or worse still, injure yourself and miss a larger period of training. Remember, your 'overall' welfare is paramount, so missing a day or two here and there is a small price to pay for a balanced life.

Not doing a program in time, is a good motivation to restart it someday.
So go on, in the way you feel good with it and revisit later to go for it again.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I feel reliefed and I will just take it easy. I actually become more active and exercising more now, outside Darebee.
Kanary December 31 sounds like a good idea.

Apparently I feel the need to write a follow-up to my last post - I got sick and measured 38,5 degrees fever, in Celcius of course. I've got only three days left in both my programs and I know this is not the time to push it
Although, it is weird having a fever for the first time in over 10 years or so.
