Can I add Programs in training plans?

    Can I add Programs in training plans?

    I want to follow the guardian training plan for general fitness and I was wondering whether it is possible to follow any of the Strength Program on Strength Workout days and HIIT Program on days that say I should do HIIT workout?

    Or I should just pick a strength and HIIT workout from the WORKOUTS section. I get kinda bored doing the same exercises over and over again and therefore like the program format.

    I think you won't need to follow the guardian training plan if you can do a program.

    If you do the guardian one it will be better to pick from the individual workout sheets.

      The training plans exist to offer a rough outline of a workout plan that not only fills certain goals (strength, cardio,tone, etc.), but also avoids overtraining. The plans are customisable in strength and taste by chosing different workouts for the slots, but this comes at the expense that the training plan is only optimised to a certain point, because there is no way to test every possible version of it.

      Now the programs are very specific outlines of a workout plan, they also fill certain goals and avoid overtraining, but since they are rigid in the exercises, the darebee team was able to extensively test their efficacy.

      This means that a program will always have more reproducible effects and more evidence behind it than a training plan. However if you chose workouts highly suited for your individual self a training plan can be better for you personally than a program. This requires knowledge and experience.
      However chopping up a program to make it fit a training plan defeats the purpose of the program, erasing the well-tested structure specifically designed for the exercises within it. A program can happen to fit within the structure of a training plan, but it doesn't need to, because it has its own structure that is more highly optimised.

        Vanquisher - that's why I opt for the programs. I like the idea of the training plans, but I'm really lazy and don't want to look through that many workouts. Once I've started a program = autopilot
