    Water Fast Duration

I was thinking of doing a water fast before the family eating holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas). I've heard no more than 2 days for a fast, but have also read people saying no more than 7 days. I mainly want to fast, but not have to take too much time for my body to accept eating again and not have to give up working out. If it helps, I've already been doing low carb Paleo one meal a day for about 3 months.
    Thanks in advance.

If you're doing more than two days and still want to work out you will have a protein problem.
Maybe you could do a broth/smoothie/shake fast?

If your reasons for the water fast are that you'd like the reset your hunger signals before the holidays, then simply doing an extremely low-cal fast will already get you there. Here many people do juice fasts or soup fasts, however I think juice fasts are pretty useless since juices mainly contain sugar/calories, which is the one thing you don't lack during a fast, that's what body fat is for.

People who are doing longer fasts are either very overweight (obese or higher bmis) and possibly under the care of a doctor (protein sparing modified fasts are a thing)... or eating disordered. If you are a normal weight there is no benefit to a longer fast, and lots of risks.

Yea, I think I'll do a 2 day fast followed by a < 500 calorie fast the week of the holidays.

Remember to drink plenty of herbal tea. No calories, tastes different from water, warm things are pleasant for your stomach and there might even be minerals in them (depending on the plant).

I'm too sensitive to caffeine to drink actual tea tea after 08:00

Earl Grey and black tea helped cure my soda addiction.
