    Both the Total Abs Challenge program and the Masterpack workout got me to 5min! I actually found the most effective method to be training my abs in other (non-planking) ways. Torturing myself with failed long planks over and over did nothing but make me feel like crap.

    Also scroll social media or play a game on your phone while you elbow plank. It sounds silly but it really keeps your mind from focusing on those last few agonizing minutes. Or heck, keep a small bowl of popcorn within reach!

    Planks are such a mental game.
