DAREBEE Frankfurt 2016 [Recap & Pictures]

Oh boy, I don't know where to start

It has been an amazing weekend! I like to thank everyone for making their way to Frankfurt and thus making this one of the greatest experiences ever! Thank you for sharing the pain during the workshop, thank you for sharing the drinks in the evening, thank you for putting a smile on my face the entire weekend, thank you for...being amazing in the Hive and even more so in person!

I'll try to give you a brief recap of our weekend so those of you that couldn't be there can get a glimpse of what it looks like when DAREBEEs get together

We kicked it off on Saturday when everybody arrived at the hotel. I think you can tell that we were excited:

The workshop was a LOT of fun! We started with a warm up session, did the main workout and finished it up with a 'cool down' workout, courtesy of Damer . Calling it 'cool down' was probably a bit misleading since it basically set our tendons on fire! Damer the tendon killer struck again! There may or may not has been swearing

The crew from top left top left to front right:
    Threnn, ithilwenia, ACTIVATED , Deleted22, mkw, MissSmilla , Particle , lpf , Brainbug96 , Mik3Br
    Ulli , Love-In-A-Mist , Sargo , Carlos , Carbon , Alisha, TheRaven

This was also where I got these amazing presents:

In case you can't read it, the shirt says: 'Challenge Master, Quest Boss, Keeper of DAREBEES' and 'Frankfurt 2016' on the back. And my favorite part: it has a raven on the sleeve! The beers are all local beers from the area the crew came from! Best gifts ever!

We also did the Sally Up Challenge together and EVERYONE joined in! Here's the video

By the way: we had a knight riding in on a horse to the sound of the horn of Rohan. Well... kinda: the Knight was Threnn (who brought a frickin sword!) and the horses were Carbon , MissSmilla and Carlos . The horn of Rohan was actually a 'beer of lpf '. Yeah, that happened. This actually was a bet whether they would pull it off Well, needless to say I owed them drinks

Some of us spent the rest of the evening at the Main river, before we all went to the restaurant - which was A-MA-ZING!

After that we split up: part of us went back to the Hotel, some stayed a bit longer at the restaurant and a couple of us went for more drinks in a different bar (actually different bars). The crew got introduced to the local Äbbelwoi (wine made from apples) and got to see a bit of Frankfurt's nightlife

After a (very short) night some of us went for a 7k (ish) morning run - the others preferred to stay in bed

We parted ways after we had breakfast together and packed our stuff.

It was a pleasure meeting and getting to know everyone! I had a blast and enjoyed every single minute with you!
I guess we can say that the first official DAREBEE meet up was a success and that it won't be the last one

I said it and I will say it again: DAREBEEs are amazing!

If you have any stories or photos you want to share, feel free to do so

I think from now on we should always have a horn of Rohan blown on Darebee Meetups and (of course) there has to be a sword (I am sure customs will understand ) TheRaven great to hear my little cool down was a hit I kinda have been getting used to the swearing during the weekly workshops so you guys are in good company already

I think you all totally rock!!!! Darebee history is being made!! And heh-heh we are putting in place some traditions, it seems

The whole weekend was amazing. We definitely need to repeat that.
It was really nice meeting the real persons behind the nicknames and profile pictures.

It was really great to meet you all. I enjoyed every second, I still got a big fat smile on my face.
We had a lot of fun, shared a lot of stories, like how to get lost during a race and things like that.
Again, I have to say, I am speechless and miss the words to really discribe this weekend. It was incredible.

I think I smiled or laughed the whole weekend so it was a workout for my cheeks too

Thanks to everyone who made this meeting possible!
I had a blast, and I'm already looking forward to participating at the next one.
I won't hide my enthusiasm for organising a DareBee France either!
I was happy to represent both Chile (and thus the Americas) and France, and I only regret not speaking any German... luckily, you could all speak good English ☺

Danke schön! (Or something like that 😛)

PS: are we having a Google Docs folder to share the pictures? 😃

It was awesome - I'm still smiling and probably will continue smiling for quite some time . It was lovely to meet you all in person for the first time; I'm sure there'll be many opportunities to meet in the future!

Damer , everything was fine for the first eight exercises, but the ninth one didn't feel much like cool down, more like having a flamethrower fired at point blank range at us ...
