    weapons training

so i noticed a lot of the weapons workouts say upper body but really shouldnt they be considered full body, also can I substitute axes instead of the sword as I have two hatchets and a larger axe?

The workouts I saw were for bokken or shinai, I used a 2.5lb katana and irritated an old sore shoulder. A stick may be better than hatchets coz the movements were swift, with a shinai you can go very swift.

Since I started doing it my shoulders have felt better. You should research indian club training it may help with your shoulder. https://www.artofmanliness.com/artic...club-training/

I've known about Indian Clubs but mainly do Tai Chi weapon forms which is more flow than speed. I have no shoulder issue now only at the time I attempted using a metal sword for DareBee bokken workout.

Mainly sword and sabre, I do the forms with a mirror version so both hands get a turn.

Not my form but should give you an idea . . .
