    Geeky Motivations

So I was making my own poster, of sorts, to inspire myself and keep me motivated through the holiday, but I didn't want the usual "you'll have more energy," "you'll feel more confident," blah, blah, blah that's typical, so I came up with some geeky motivations instead:

    Siraxtanata's Reasons to Work Out

    -Go raiding with Ragnar
-The odds will EVER be in your favor
-It is easier to outrun the zombies (yes, a common one, but still a good one)
-You never know when the Brotherhood of Assassins comes knocking
    -Bucky.
-Collect all the artifacts, especially when people are trying to kill you
-You won’t be “that one out-of-shape Jedi”
-Outrun the staircases of Hogwarts before they move again
    -Finally Kill Bill
-Track the Orcs to rescue the Halflings without the need for a break
-Survive the Winter that’s coming (and because you’re from the North, make sure to remember)
    -Single-handedly kill all the Reavers
-Lifting Thor’s hammer will be easier than your latest PR
-Stop the cake from being a lie

I had a really fun time working on this list. What are your geeky motivations? I'm curious!

-Run through the forest with the Omaticaya
      -Be anti-fragile
      -Get free from the Matrix
-Carry the ring to the top of Mount Doom
-Climb the steps to the temple
      -Reach level 50
      -Defend my Queen and princesses
-Slay the dragons and battle the demons
      -Go there and back again
      -Fight alongside Aslan
      -Escape the pit

I'm sure I could think of more, but those are pretty powerful ones for me.

Bear attack, I dont want to be the slowest guy there!

That was directed at me one time, "at least I'll outrun you".
            One of motivations.

              Some geeky motivations from me:

              - being able to simply walk into Mordor
              - being quick enough to shoot first
              - not getting eaten by some mutated beasts first time in the Zone
              - cleanse the heretics in the name of the Emperor

and now one that actually happened to me once.

              - not being made navigator of the longship, because you are to week to row.

Although being navigator was fun and I only beached our ship two times and nearly hit an island, I would prefer to have the choice if I want to row...

                    I love this thread

                    - Being able to fight in Gokus clothes
                    - Keeping up with DareDevil in a hallway fight.
                    - Never having to hear "Snake? Snaaaaaaaaaaake!"
                    - Wielding Cloud's Buster Sword without getting carpal tunnel
                    - BECAUSE I'M BATMAN
                    - To be able to simply walk into Mordor
                    - To get up after an exercise and say "I can do this all day"

                      Like most people... Batman, haha

My favorites are the heroes without superpowers - Batman, Daredevil. One that a lot of people don't think of is Hawkeye. (He's actually my favorite in terms of comic book characters, not movies.) Movie-wise, it's Captain America.

I don't have any phrases or anything, the motivation is simply to be like them.

Trying to overcome gluttony "Diego, spit that out. You don't know where it's been." (Ice Age)
Catching my second wind... among other things... "Snotty beamed me twice last night. It was wonderful." (Space Balls)
Overcoming restlessness "I just felt like running." (Forrest Gump)
When you're struggling through a hurdle "Run, Forrest! Run!" (Forrest Gump)
When you overcome a hurdle "Now, you wouldn't believe me if I told you, but I could run like the wind blows." (Forrest Gump)
Ending the day on a good note "And in the morning, I'm making waffles!" (Shrek)
Eating right "Better out than in, I always say." (Shrek)

That's about as geeky as I can get right now

I literally watch daredevil while I work out. So that's clearly motivating for me.

others would be the obvious things like the zombie apocalypse, being able to pull myself out of a hole, etc.

I have been described, by my doctor no less, as "built for harsher climates" and "able to survive a fall from a 3 story building with no injuries" -- my doctor is weird, but I take my sturdiness to heart and I think about Gimli and that motivates me:

"We dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances!"

Daredevil from "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk" inspires me above all other Daredevils.... But if I REALLY want a good workout... I just watch something starring Leslie Elwes.... Like "The Princess Bride" ... Which brings me to my motivation of "Surviving the Fire Swamp" ....OMGoodness! We need a Fireswamp Darebee workout!!!
